About The Sunshine Bunch
Ravenwood; a quaint, old town once known to be a very active and thriving community, is now better known for its…otherworldly occurrences. Most, if not all, of these occurrences seem to be pin-pointed to Pemblebutton Manor. This old, creaky mansion sits nestled atop Widows Peak, which overlooks all of Ravenwood. Pemblebutton Manor has been around since the founding of Ravenwood, as The Pemblebuttons are Ravenwood’s oldest founding family. Pemblebutton Manor has housed The Pemblebutton family for centuries, but we’re only interested in one Pemblebutton right now, a young boy named Oliver. Now, Oliver doesn’t have any living friends, which in normal circumstances would be very sad, but as you have probably been able to guess, this story isn’t very “normal”. All of Oliver’s friends are of the undead variety. Most people would say that Pemblebutton Manor is haunted by this bunch of monsters, but luckily Oliver is not like most people. No, Oliver deems this ghostly group as not only permanent residents, but also his closest friends. And as luck would have it, this supernatural crew only want one thing from the afterlife, to be Oliver’s best friends. So, join me as the antics of The Sunshine Bunch unfolds in this weekly web comic series!
About the Creator
Hello all! First off, I want to just say thank you for taking the time to visit my page! My name is Bruce and I am the creator of The Sunshine Bunch. I currently work as a freelancer and graphic designer for a corporation in the Chicago-land area. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a deep passion for all things art, especially cartooning. Growing up I always wanted to be a cartoonist, and now I am trying to achieve my dream through the creation of The Sunshine Bunch!
My intention behind the creation of The Sunshine Bunch is to project current events in a medium that allows people to detach themselves and really understand issues at face value. I believe a lot of things that we believe in as a society, or even things that we accept to be “okay”, get muddied up because we are too close to the situations at hand. And what better way to do that than through monsters! Now that’s not to say that I think we’re all monsters, quite the opposite really. I believe everyone is inherently good, and bad behaviors are only learned. In light of all the bad things that happen throughout the world, I do believe that there are still way more good people than bad.
That’s not to say that every single one of my comics will have a hidden underlying moral story behind it, some of these ideas just come to me randomly and I illustrate them because I think they’re funny. And while my sense of humor can be a bit vulgar or “adult”, I by no means have any intention of creating offensive comics just for the sake of being offensive.
Just remember, The Sunshine Bunch is a made up fictional world meant to poke fun at all facets of society for the sole sake of providing entertainment.
With that being said, it is my goal to turn The Sunshine Bunch into an animated series in the near future. So, please, if you like my work spread the word to all your friends and family!
Again, I really appreciate your time and thank you for your continued support of The Sunshine Bunch!
